Shaun of the Dead / Hot Fuzz parallels (of which there are many): Nick Frost’s character apparently dies to protect Simon Pegg’s character (and others), only to come back from the dead at the end.
I credit Nick Frost’s range as an actor that I think he’s the hottest guy ever in Shaun of the Dead and could really take him or leave him in Hot Fuzz, due to his character.
